Why I built Tick.rsvp
I'm Kevin, and I'm a developer who was incredibly frustrated when I was organizing my own wedding. I also spent years dealing with work events where we had to rely on horrible spreadsheets that would often break for people, making the RSVP process a complete nightmare!
There is no big company behind Tick.rsvp. This project is about ME and my personal struggle to solve this problem once and for all.
The Problem with Traditional RSVP Systems
- The "RSVP Chase": I spent weeks chasing guests who forgot to RSVP. It was exhausting and stressful.
- Meal Plan Chaos: Managing dietary requirements and meal choices across 100+ guests in a spreadsheet was a manual nightmare. They would break, or people would enter data in the wrong format.
- Link Fatigue: Most wedding websites are too complex. I realized guests just want to RSVP and see the location.
My Solution: Precision RSVP
Tick.rsvp is my attempt to fix this. It's a minimalist, high-conversion platform that takes less than 30 seconds for a guest to complete.
- Ghost Links: I used the logic from my other project,
ghst.ink, to provide expiring links. Once the deadline passes, the link vanishes, preventing late entries and logistical chaos. - Automated Exports: No more manual data entry. You get perfectly formatted, venue-ready exports for your caterers.
- Magic Link Auth: No passwords—just a unique link per guest that tracks exactly who has opened and who hasn't.
This project was born directly from my own frustration, and I built it to give people their time back so they can focus on celebrating, not chasing spreadsheets.
